WEATHERING

This project documents weathered and worn seashell fragments. Iā€™m most attracted to those reduced to abstract shapes, with ridges worn smooth, exposing layers of growth like strata of earth; miniature geological illusions and industrious mark making of sea creatures boring into and etching upon the surfaces, creating compositions rich with textures, holes, & grooves. Documentation of these tiny marvels is in collaboration with Conor Fair & the University of Georgia Department of Entomology via digital microscope at X80 : largest dimension: 32mm / smallest dimension: 10mm : 2023
